Daisy Smile
A daisy has no sweeter smile than you. Your radiant beam turns away the blue. Sensitive hands reach and grab another tidbit along the way. Leaving behind a warming sun ray. Precious mind seeks to learn another of knowledge's morsel. A lasting impression becomes your dorsal. Honey voice melts anyone's heart, wanting to hear. A throbbing heart is the blessing always felt near. Your smile is sweeter than a daisy, yet so pure. Just a child, your love is great assure. Dorothy E. Sitting down with my easel, a paper is placed. My brush was ready, nothing traced. I check my watercolors for the color of blue. I drew a sun in the sky added it too. I used some brown on my house I sketched. On the large paper my mommy and I was etched. A problem arose I needed to paint Mommy's face and body. Red was too dark, purple too shoddy. Orange was the wrong color too I decided. Just leave it white I chided. I finished painting a picture, I'm now satisfied. Time for my nap I'm tired I quickly decide. Dorothy E. Come play with me. There are many lands I want to see. I can be a captain on a ship. A lion tamer with a long whip. Nurse to give you shot when sick. Or a clown, doing a funny trick. Waitress to serve you some tea. There are many things I can be. A mother and father to tuck you in at night. Or a pilot to take you on an airplane flight. Right now I think I'll just be a little girl. With long hair even wearing a curl. Dorothy E. Scott © Copyrighted 2015 Little Bit Of Verse ALL MY TOYS
Sitting here I gaze at all my toys. They are my precious assets, my joys. I see my dolls sitting on my toy shelf. All my coloring books, and crayons are arranged by self. Many books I have even a doll house too. Barbie has a new wardrobe, Ken wears his suit of blue. A set of teacups and tiny pitcher for drinking. A small boat for playing in the bathtub, no sinking. Some skates, a skateboard, and bicycle. A sled for snow, when nose is an icicle. There is a ball I kick around. In my room many furry creatures can be found. Take a journey into my toy land and you'll see. All my joys and precious possessions are there for me. Dorothy E. Scott © Copyrighted 2015 Little Bit Of Verse THE LAND OF MANY SNOWS
I’m so glad, I live in the land of many snows. Snowflakes they tickle the end of my sensitive nose. I can make a snow-angel or a snowman with my muffler around his neck. Many red cardinals are roosting on the neighbors deck. My sled is ready to tackle a small hill for sliding fun. Deep footprints are left the ground where my tiny feet run. My tiny hands try to reach icicles, all alone. If I was just a little taller, I could grab one for my own. In the land of many snows, there is many things I can do. After playing in the snow, my mom and father and I will share a cup of hot cocoa, one or two. Dorothy E. Scott © Copyrighted 2015 Little Bit Of Verse ODE TO MY TEDDY BEAR
Ode to my teddy bear I hold so dear and sweet. These are the reasons I think you are so very neat! You are there when I sleep at night. My comfort when mommy turns out the light. I can snuggle ever so close, love chose. Your fur tickles my sensitive nose. When I'm sad all my tears are held near. I can tell you all my secrets I hold dear. I am never lonely when you're around. With you always new happiness can be found. Ode to my teddy bear I hold so dear and sweet. These are the reasons I think you are so very neat! Dorothy E. God's Little Girl
I'm God's own special little girl. A lily in his garden, my smile in a swirl. My small hands grasp a butterfly. I race through fields, my tears always dry. My prayers are for each and everyone. A smile is my kisses with rays of the sun. I am God's own little girl, see me shine all the day. He has blessed me with love and beauty in every way. Dorothy E. Watch for every rainbow for a pot of natural gold. The red is the blush in the sky. Blue is for the sky, clear and bold. Yellow is for the sunshine, a warmth nigh. Violet is for the fragrance of each woodland flower. Green is for the life we follow. Orange is for warmth felt, my inner power. Together they make for a better tomorrow. Dorothy E. Scott © Copyrighted 2015 Little Bit Of Verse Bath Time Blues
My puppy sure likes to wiggle and squirm out of his cleaning . A romp in the the mud, bath time to him is demeaning. His tail has many burrs, I have to carefully comb. He picks up everything on his yard roam. Oh Me! Hes supposed to be the color of brown spots on white. He's almost black, what a terrible plight. Be still my puppy just one sticker and I'm through. Stop your whining, I know you're blue. Off to bath time we will hurriedly go. Soon you will again be as white as snow. In the tub my doggy, you will be shampooed. Mama is helping, this bathtime you can't elude. Dorothy E. Scott © Copyrighted 2015 Little Bit Of Verse A Friend
I met a friend the other day. She has brown long hair even a curl I can say. Her beaming smile catches the light. Inside her is sunrays coming in sight. Just a tiny girl, she carries purity. This special friend I know God meant to be. Her cheeks are rosy red, blushes of laughter. Her love is my support, my rafter. A beauty she carries displayed. Beautiful personality is arrayed. She is a true countenance, a cherished friend. I'll love her forever, for there will never be an end. Dorothy E. Scott © Copyrighted 2015 Little Bit Of Verse A Kitten For Me
I went to a store for a friend for me. Many different pets did I see. There were puppies in a cage, being fed. Many birds the shade of blue, yellow, green, and red. Scary snakes were peeking in a glass. Little mice and hamsters, playing in yellowed grass. Lizards, and other reptiles in a cage raring to fight. Variety of fish in an aquarium with a light. In a small cage was a Siamese kitten with the bluest eyes peeking at me. This was my choice I decided had to be. The sales lady opened the doors, my new kitty leaped in my lap. She felt right at home, quickly took a nap. I stroked her as I carried her out the door. I knew I had found my friend forevermore. Purring me a tune, she was taken to her new house. I named my Siamese kitten, Sandy, as I handed her a catnip mouse. Dorothy E. Scott © Copyrighted 2015 Little Bit Of Verse DADDY’S LITTLE SNOWFLAKE
I am Daddy’s Little Snowflake. He unbundles me and gives my wet gloves a vigorous shake. When my toboggan hat has snow dusted on top. My nose is so cold, our warm house makes it stop. Daddy’s Little Snowflake, I can brave the cold. When it is time to come back in, my daddy makes me feel good as gold. He fixes me warm things to drink, chases chill away. Outside the land is covered with snow, little sun warms the day. I’m Daddy’s Little Snowflake, my fingers are like ice. Daddy always know how to fix me, warms me real nice. Dorothy E. Scott © Copyrighted 2015 Little Bit Of Verse NOW I LAY ME DOWN TO SLEEP
Now I lay me down to sleep. From this child you won't hear even a peep. Lord, I pray for all the children big and small. May their legs be strong and never fall. The love of a family may they always feel. For the bird with its nest by my window sill. All the busy people walking to and fro. And all the workers in the snow. For my friends may they not ever be sick. For my puppy with the sweetest lick. May the world have peace always free. These are my prayers Lord please listen to me. Now I lay me down to sleep. My prayers are heard so you won't even hear a peep, Dorothy E. Scott © Copyrighted 2015 Little Bit Of Verse |
