I yearn for the roses, never to bloom, The special moments we once shared. An emptiness remains, an isolated room, Once for me you cared. Preferring another lifestyle, I no longer mattered to you. Our parting has taken my smile. You have left my heart lifeless and blue. I yearn for the roses never to grow, Their beauty reminds me of the love I lost, Heartache is now the feature show. Your betrayal was my cost. I sat weeping for the life of yesterday, A photograph remains in my hand, Knowing forever you have gone away, Leaving me flaming with arrows, love’s brand. Dorothy E. Looking down at his emaciated body, She could hardly recognize the man she married. Wiping his brow with a cool cloth gently, Showing all, his love she still carried. Dorothy E.
