Does The World Know What We Are Going Through
I watched my warrior buddies fall down in the heated sand,
While the acrid gunpowder burned my sensitive nose.
Gazing upon the blood-strewn land,
I wonder if the world really knows,
What we are going through.
We have no tender hugs to console,
No shoulders to hold our fearful tears.
On a sorrowful journey we must go,
A place where humanity has lost its battle many times,
Where freedom is the cost for which we endure.
Tomorrow I will witness the cruelty of tyranny,
Each day I walk I will wonder!
“Does the world know what I am going through?”
Do they take time to say I care?
Before I meet my destiny meant for me?
Each moment carries an unsure death
In this desert of a warriors distress,
A place where hope buries its precious seed,
Giving our warriors the courage to achieve,
In the hostile war for freedom’s road.
